Our tour will begin in the fragrant lemon groves of Massa Lubrense: an enchanting peninsula situated between the bays of Naples and Salerno.
We will drive amidst the ripening olive and lemon trees - our typical Mediterranean vegetation - and gasp with delight at the crystal clear sea below. We will soon arrive at "La Masseria" (a farm deemed worthy of inclusion in the Lemon Registry of Sorrento) where our host awaits to conduct us on a guided tour/tasting of world-renowned lemon products, including lemon and orange oils slathered on homemade bread, slices of lemon with sugar, and a view of Limoncello: made by a closely-guarded secret family recipe.
We will continue our tour at the cheese factory, II Turuziello, where we will watch Treccia, the cow-milk Caciottine, and the spectacular Provolone del Monaco D.O.P. cheeses being made. We will be offered a sample of these cheeses accompanied by a homemade salami and a delicious glass of "La Masseria" wine. This will be followed by a visit to an outstanding pizzeria "Da Francesco" in the historical center of Schiazzano where we will see Neapolitan pizzas assembled and where you will be asked to make your own luncheon pizza under the supervision of the proprietor.
Our luncheon will include, of course, a homemade dessert and a robust coffee a fitting ending to this glorious day in Massa Lubrense.
